Vocational Rehabilitation

Vocational rehabilitation is the restoration or increase of a person capability to work, professional competence and ability to participate in labour market. The aim of these services is the nurturing or restoration of the capability to work of the disabled and increase of their opportunities to get employed.

The services are rendered in PI “Vilties žiedas” Rehabilitation Centre in Kaunas.

 

Aims of vocational rehabilitation:

  • To restore the person’s ability to work,
  • To increase the opportunities to employ independently,
  • To increase the opportunities to participate in employment programs.

1. Curriculum of Improvement of a Nurse Assistant (Adapted for People with Physical, Mental or Sensing Disablement) The aim of the curriculum is to provide knowledge on the changes in social and health care systems, to teach the student to help the ill persons and not to harm till qualified medical assistance is rendered. The nursing person must help the ill person to perform actions helping to protect the organism, physiologic functions and carry out the directions of doctors and nurses.
2. Curriculum of Improvement of Qualification of a Book-keeper Employing IT (Adapted for People with Physical, Mental or Sensing Disablement) The aim of the curriculum is to provide knowledge, abilities and practical skills enabling to do book-keeper’s work professionally. To arrange the accountancy of the enterprise financial operations.
3. Employment of HTML Language for the Creation of Internet websites and Presentations (Adapted for People with Physical, Mental or Sensing Disablement) The aim of the curriculum is to provide knowledge and skills for working with new technologies, creating the design of internet websites, the basics of their programming, creating catalogues in the format of compact discs (CD-ROM), to employ digital technologies for the demands of advertising, internet websites, video clips. After the completion of the curriculum the person will have the necessary knowledge and will be able to perform the operations commissioned to him while working with digital technologies.
4. Computer Literacy (Adapted for People with Physical, Mental, Disturbed Intellect or Sensing Disablement) The aim of the curriculum is to acquaint the beginners with the main concepts of information technologies, to teach to use the personal computer, work in graphic Windows environment, with text editor Word and spread sheet MS Excel, to use the internet, e-mail, acquaint with other employed software. After the completion of the curriculum the person will be able to employ the main computer operating systems.
5. Supervisor of Green Plantation (Adapted for People with Physical, Mental, Disturbed Intellect or Sensing Disablement) The aim of the curriculum is to organize a course for persons willing to acquire the profession of green plantation supervisor after acquiring which the persons will be able to take care of the environment of homesteads, will know how to choose plants, plant, take care of them, arrange parterres, lawns, know the decorative plants and will be able to grow and take care of them, will know the subtleties of green plantation forming, will be able to take care of green plantation, will familiarize with labour implements, mechanization.
6. Cleaning and Putting to Order of Premises (Adapted for People with Physical, Mental, Disturbed Intellect or Sensing Disablement) The aim of the curriculum is to organize a course for persons wishing to acquire the competence to clean and put to order premises of various destination acquiring which the persons will be able to put to order and clean residential and general use premises quickly, effectively and properly, to work with labour implements, mechanisms and chemical cleaning agents safely.
7. Basics of Computer Use (Adapted for People with Physical, Mental or Sensing Disablement)  The aim of the curriculum is to provide knowledge and skills to persons who had not worked with computer mechanisms at all or their skills are not sufficient. During lectures and practical classes they are familiarized with the newest computer apparatus equipment and open code operating systems and application programs.

Basics of Computer Use (remote teaching curriculum) (Adapted for People with Physical, Mental or Sensing Disablement)  The aim of the curriculum is to provide knowledge and skills to persons who had not worked with computer mechanisms at all or their skills are not sufficient. During lectures and practical classes they are familiarized with the newest computer apparatus equipment and open code operating systems and application programs. 8. Curriculum of an Accountant (Adapted for People with Physical, Mental or Sensing Disablement) The curriculum is aimed at acquiring the professional qualification of an accountant and guarantees the level of book-keeping, tax, law, economic knowledge and skills necessary for accountant work in enterprises and organizations of various property forms.
9. Curriculum of a Business Organizer (Adapted for people with physical disablement) The aim of the curriculum is to provide knowledge, abilities and practical skills enabling to organize Iat an enterprise the small and medium business professionally, to arrange the accountancy of the financial operations of the enterprise. Aiming at wholeness of teaching theoretic teaching is closely linked with the formation of practical skills. During practical teaching real work situation is created, RL statutory acts are employed, during the organization of business marketing investigations are performed, the persons are practically familiarized with concrete functions of the enterprise and separate its subdivisions, personnel and their work, the analysis and evaluation of the enterprise activity is performed, business plan is worked out.
